We want to hear from you  We will be talking a bit about the future of VIVO over the coming months.  How should the software progress?  How can the community grow?  How can people participate?  What challenges exist and how can we address them?

We are very, very interested in your ideas.  Please share your thoughts.  It could be a quick comment, a word of encouragement, a treatise on the future of scholarship, whatever you may wish to share.

We want to hear from you.  Here are some options: 1) write me an email (mconlon@duraspace.org ); 2) Share your thoughts with a member of VIVO Leadership Group – perhaps you work with one of these people or know one personally.  They would very much like to hear from you. Or perhaps you would prefer to share with a member of the VIVO Steering Group – perhaps you have a colleague there; 3) Share your thoughts on Slack.  Haven't joined Slack, it's easy, click here:  https://goo.gl/sSDGMn; 4) Answer an open ended survey – you can share your thoughts here https://goo.gl/forms/mc2RDSyl6xITuNIN2, in an anonymous survey;  5) You can share your thoughts on a shared open Google Doc here: https://goo.gl/q6p9wt; and 6) You can share your thoughts on one of the Interest Groups calls (see below, the Outreach and Engagement Interest Group call is this Thursday) – these friendly calls are open to all.  Please join a call and share your questions, concerns, thoughts.  Use whichever method is most comfortable for you.  Please comment freely on any aspect of the project.

We need your feedback by the end of the day, Monday, February 19.  Why so soon?  Leadership and Steering will be having a strategy meeting March 1.  The group is seeking all kinds of input – what works, what needs to be improved?  So please share your thoughts with them directly, with me (I'll be sure to share) or via one of the other mechanisms described above.

Please take a moment to think about VIVO and share your thoughts anyway you wish.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Scholars at TAMU Congratulations to the VIVO team at Texas A&M University in College Station Texas on the launch of their VIVO-powered site, Scholars@TAMU. http://scholars.tamu.edu   The site has a great look, with publication links to PubMed, Altmetrics, and other sources.  And with more than 126K publications, another example of things being bigger in Texas.  What a great site!

VIVO Vagrant  is a great way to try out VIVO.  Ted Lawless recently updated VIVO Vagrant to the current version, 1.9.3.  See http://github.com/lawlesst/vivo-vagrant Thanks Ted for sharing this great resource with the community!
