SHARE introduction

How can we pull this off–The SHared Access Research Ecosystem (SHARE)—a joint initiative of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), the Association of American Universities (AAU), and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU)? (SHARE project plan)

150 college and university presidents are hearing about "coherence"–large-scale digital initiatives in a coherent system.

DPLA could be a discovery mechanism; DPLA is a curation system

The SHARE notification system will be looking at research release results. This system could live in DuraSpace or several places; leverages the amount of investment we have already put in.

Are there enough pieces out there now that we could build this coherent world? Digital content/scholarship has been around for about 20 years, This is a system that is built to work together. SHARE could be the glue that holds all of these components together.
