| Story (A paragraph or two describing what happens) | Collection/Communities often grow over time by acquiring new sub collection that receive items. Sibling collections in these growing communities/collections have different names. but they often carry the exact same authorization settings, item templates ... Currently we do not allow (even our power users) to create their own collections because it is rather difficult to get all settings right. A duplicate feature in the UI (choose collection to use as template, choose parent, give name) would be very helpful. Likewise it would make sense to offer this feature on the command line so system admins can script duplication or even bulk duplication.
