For institutions that host streaming media outside of DSpace, a DSpace item can provide a link to a media player.

Media player may be configured in one of the following manners

  • auto-play
  • display still image and auto-play on click
  • display still image and authenticate on click

    An external media service might implement permissions that are distinct from DSpace permissions.  If this use case is implemented, should DSpace permissions be consulted to determine how to initiate the media player?
