In order to allow repository managers to update existing item metadata with external identifiers, such as ORCID for metadata fields representing people, the standard CSV batch edit should support ORCIDs.

This should be offered in a way that the existing order of metadata values for a specific field can be preserved. Again, in the case of ORCID and authors it means that the order of the authors should be preserved, even if some authors have ORCIDs and others don't.
