Policy

At the time of each release, Fedora will be compiled and produce artifacts that run on a publicly supported version of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
In the case of an LTS release, the versions of Java supported will always include the version publicly supported at the time of the LTS's initial release.
A minimum of two months advance notice to the fedora-community mailing list will be provided before requiring a new version of the JVM.

Where publicly supported is defined as a Java version that has passed its "general availability" date but has not yet reached its "end of public updates" date, as specified by Oracle's support roadmap.
