Composition & Reporting Relationship

  • The Technical Working Group (TWG) is appointed by the Leadership Group (LG)

  • Membership by nomination / invitation of the LG

    • Open to Leaders & Steering Group Members

    • The LG may also selectively invite key members of the community from beyond the Leaders/SG to participate

  • Reports output to Leadership Group

  • Accountable to the Leadership Group

  • Target 5+ members initially; may cap group membership if unwieldy

    • Membership must include at least one Fedora committer (i.e. a developer who is not a member of the Leadership Group)

  • Term = 3 months

  • Current members:

    • Forthcoming

Responsibilities and Outcomes

  • The TWG will undertake an on-going technical review of Fedora, including:

    • Validation of components and APIs

    • Assessment of core vs. modular features

    • Identification of any questions or concerns about Fedora 4.0 architecture in the context of the project’s goals, objectives, and use cases

  • The technical review will focus on hands-on testing and analysis

  • The TWG will submit a report to the LG

    • The report will include a technical analysis of Fedora 4.0

    • Where possible, conclusions will be backed up with test results

    • The report will include recommendations for future development, architectural direction, and future investigation

Meeting Frequency:

  • The TWG will meet virtually once per month
