  1. Plans for 2019 - series of repository workshops for African repositories managers organized by West and Central African Research and Education Network (WACREN), EIFL and Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) following a successful November 2018 workshop organized in conjunction with the UbuntuNet Alliance Conference as part of the LIBSENSE Initiative: https://wacren.net/en/news/report-libsense-repository-workshop-I

  2. University of Toronto TSpace real time downloads map, https://tspace.library.utoronto.ca/, using Leaflet, https://leafletjs.com/.

Altmetric badges added, for example, https://tspace.library.utoronto.ca/handle/1807/93137.

    1. Thanks Anne Lawrence (smile) The TSpace real time usage map is based on Leaflet open source software and data from SOLR. I'll see what I can put together in terms of sharing the implementation for those interested.

In terms of Altmetric badges - there's a connector that can be enabled in DSpace to work with Altmetric API (we are on DSpace 5.9 JSPUI). One limitation is that Altmetrics captures DOI stats better than Handle usage.

      1. Thanks, Mariya. We have chosen to add the Handle connection rather than the DOI for Altmetric, but would love to add both, as DiVA, http://liu.diva-portal.org. See also notes at https://github.com/VTUL/vtechworks/issues/527.

        1. Thanks, Anne Lawrence we did add handles, but didn't see much in way of results displayed. We reached out to Almetrics support and their response was that handles are not captured well by their algorithms. Our IR does not mint DOIs, so the results displayed are mostly from ingested articles that come with DOIs. Did you have different experience?

          1. Yes, we don't mint DOI's either, for the most part, so our experience is similar. However, we chose to go with Handles.

  3. We're thinking of upgrading to the latest v5 to tide us over till we can upgrade to v7.

    1. My sysadmin/devs are v interested, so I've passed these links on to them - many thanks!

    2. If anyone has an interest in packaging up a set of freely distributable AIP assets, let me know.  If we do this well, we could simplify testing for everyone!

  4. Plans for 2019:  we are going to release DSpace-CRIS 5.10 and 6.3,, going on with DSpace 7 development and starting the development of DSpace-CRIS 7

  5. Consider the creation of an "awesome list" for DSpace.

I would be happy to create this in DSpace-Labs if we had a volunteer to maintain the content.

    1. I would be willing to be the administrator of this awesome list, https://github.com/DSpace-Labs/awesome-dspace. Terry, thank you for setting is up. All are welcome to contribute to it.

      1. Anne Lawrence , could you send me your github user name?  I will make you the administrator for the group.

If any folks would like to contribute to the list, let me know.

        1. Thank you Terrence W Brady . Could I be added as a contributor? My github username is librariam

        2. Cool, a number of things from Extensions and Addons Work might also be appropriate for that Awesome list?

          1. Bram Luyten (Atmire), Thank you for suggesting the Extensions and Addons Works list, which I have added to the awesome-dspace list, https://github.com/DSpace-Labs/awesome-dspace).

        3. Please note: To comply with conventions for awesome lists, we have renamed this project,  awesome-dspace, https://github.com/DSpace-Labs/awesome-dspace.
