We invite all interested parties to submit workshop proposals for th= e Third Annual VIVO Conference in August. Workshops will be taught on Wedne= sday, August 22 and each will be 3.5 hours long.
We strongly encourage proposals which incorporate a lively presentat=
ion style and which use a variety of instructional approaches (e.g. lecture=
, demonstration, group discussion, brainstorming, hands-on exercises, case =
studies) and materials (e.g. slides, handouts, code snippets and sample dat=
a on the VIVO wiki) throughout the session.

The deadline to submit a workshop proposal is March 23, at 5:00pm ET=
. Decisions will be announced via email by Friday, March 30. Accepted works=
hops may be recorded and all workshops will need to place instructional mat=
erials on SourceForge for use by workshop participants. All chosen workshop=
s will receive a portion of the workshop registration fees from their sessi=
on to compensate them for the time it takes to prepare a high-quality works=
hop.

The 2012 VIVO Implementation Fest will be held May 14-16 in Boulder, CO = on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The Implementation Fest is an= opportunity for VIVO implementation teams from around the country to gathe= r, share, learn and exchange information related to technical and policy/ad= option aspects of VIVO. The goal of the Implementation Fest is to assist, s= upport and help facilitate ongoing VIVO implementations.
We=E2=80=99ll be contacting representatives from a number of known VIVO = implementations about the event. Because VIVO is an open source! community,= we might miss your institution or you know of someone implementing VIVO of= f the radar please don't hesitate to contact us.
