When you configure the Solr module =E2=80=9Cout of the box,=E2=80=9D a n= umber of terms have been made available to you for searching and retrieving= items that you have ingested using solution packs. You are asked to config= ure Solr using the pattern =E2=80=9Cdc.title ~ Title,=E2=80=9D with the fir= st portion corresponding to the way the field has been indicated in schema.= xml, and the second portion corresponding to the label that you would prefe= r to have appear to the user. Below is a quick reference to show you what i= s available for searching, returning searches, and faceting. Remember that = you will usually want to use fields indexed as type =E2=80=9Cstring=E2=80= =9D for faceting, and fields indexed as type =E2=80=9Ctext=E2=80=9D for sea= rching.
Two configuration options are strongly recommended: dsm.text in the sear= ch field to search fulltext of items, and PID in the returned fields area s= o that users can navigate back to an object from the record in the search.<= /p>
These terms have been stored as type =E2=80=9Cstring=E2=80=9D making the= m appropriate for faceting:
