Announcing the registration to the meeting

The DSpace Anwendertreffen 2017 (formally known as German DSpace User Group Meeting) will take place on Thursday, September 21st, 2017 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is organized by Stuttgart University Library, Fraunhofer IRB and The Library Code GmbH. This Meeting is about informal exchange between DSpace users. There will be talks about DSpace-Cris, Docker and other development around DSpace. Furthermore we will introduce Round Tables to discuss topics like ORCID, Research Data, DSpace for newcomers, and other special interests. While the main conference language will be German, some talks will be held in English.
The meeting will take place at Stuttgart University Library, Facility City Center, Holzgartenstrasse 16, 70174 Stuttgart, Germany. Please use the entrance at Max-Kade-Weg within the Stadtgarten. There will be no participant fee. Please do register yourself by sending an email (anwendertreffen@the-library-code.de) till August 21st, 2017.(Deutschsprachige Version)
Das DSpace Anwendertreffen 2017 (bisher als German DSpace User Group Meeting bezeichnet) findet am Donnerstag, den 21. September 2017 von 10:00 bis 16:00 Uhr statt. Es wird durch die Universitätsbibliothek Stuttgart, Fraunhofer IRB und The Library Code GmbH organisiert. Das Programm umfasst Vorträge zu Themen wie DSpace-Cris, DSpace with Docker und anderen Entwicklungen rund um DSpace. Erstmalig führen wir Thementische ein, an denen Themen wir ORCID, Forschungsdaten, DSpace für Einsteiger und andere Anliegen diskutiert werden können. Die Konferenzsprache Deutsch ist, es wird jedoch einzelne Vorträge in Englisch geben.
Das Treffen wird in der Universitätsbibliothek Stuttgart, Standort Stadtmitte, Holzgartenstrasse 16, 70174 Stuttgart stattfinden. Bitte nutzen Sie den Eingang am Max-Kade-Weg im Stadtgarten. Es wird keine Teilnehmergebühr erhoben. Melden Sie sich bitte per E-Mail (anwendertreffen@the-library-code.de) bis zum 21. August 2017 an.

Call for Participation

The DSpace Anwendertreffen 2017 (formally known as German DSpace User Group Meeting) will take place at Stuttgart University Library on Thursday, 21st September 2017. It is organized by Stuttgart University Library, Fraunhofer IRB and The Library Code. This Meeting is about informal exchange between DSpace users. As the number of attendees rose in the past years we have been looking for a solution to keep this character of the Anwendertreffen without the need to limit the number of attendees. As last year, we will have a sections of talks and we will introduce a new format: Round Tables. Every Round Table will have a specific topic and a timeframe. Participants can choose Round Tables to connect to other DSpace users working on equal challenges by discussion, open questions or providing ideas and solutions. To give an example: there will be a topic table "DSpace newcomers“ providing information for people who are just starting to work with DSpace.

We kindly ask you to send us proposals for both formats. If you would like to give a talk, please send us a short abstract including an time estimation of the time you’re talk will take. If there is a topic you think a Round Table should discuss, please send us your idea. If you’re willing to offer a Round Table on a dedicated topic, please send us a short description. While the main conference language will be German, we will accept talks and Round Tables in English as well. Please send your proposals by email to anwendertreffen@the-library-code.de within the deadline of June 21st, 2017.

Das DSpace Anwendertreffen 2017 (bisher als German DSpace User Group Meeting bezeichnet) findet am Donnerstag, den 21. September 2017 in Stuttgart statt. Es wird durch die Universitätsbibliothek Stuttgart, Fraunhofer IRB und The Library Code organisiert. Das DSpace Anwendertreffen zeichnete sich bislang durch die Möglichkeit zum informellen Informationsaustausch aus. In den letzten Jahren stieg die Zahl der Teilnehmenden fortwährend, so dass wir nach einer Lösung suchen, um den Charakter des Anwendertreffens zu erhalten ohne deren Anzahl begrenzen zu müssen. Neben Vorträgen werden wir daher ein neues Format einführen: Thementische. Jeder Thementisch wird innerhalb eines Zeitrahmens ein konkretes Thema besprechen. Im Rahmen eines Thementisches kann jeder Teilnehmende Fragen stellen, Ideen und Lösungen vorschlagen und sich mit anderen DSpace Anwendern vernetzen, die an vergleichbaren Herausforderungen arbeiten. Beispielweise wird  ein Thementisch „DSpace Newcomers“ Informationen für Personen anbieten, die gerade anfangen mit DSpace zu arbeiten.
