Backing up All Fedora objects to DuraCloud

Create a DuraCloud space to hold the content:

  1. Login to Duracloud Administrator on your instance
  2. In the Spaces tab, click Add Space, then enter a name

Tell CloudSync about this space and your Fedora instance:

  1. Login to your CloudSync instance and go to the Stores tab
  2. Click Add, DuraCloud-based, and enter login details for your DuraCloud instance.
  3. Click Add, Fedora-based, and enter login details for your Fedora repository.

Copy the objects:

  1. In CloudSync, go to the Tasks tab, click Add, then Copy Objects.
  2. Select "All Objects" in (and from) your Fedora-based store, to your DuraCloud-based store.
  3. Keep all checkboxes selected, then click Save.
  4. Watch the Active section and wait for your Task to appear.
  5. After the task appears, depending on how many objects you have, you may see it "Running:" for a short or long time. During this time, you may open the Task heading by clicking on it, then select "View Log". A plain text page should open in your browser with the very latest information about the task at the bottom. You can reload this page until the task completes.
  6. When the task is complete, the information about it will move down to the Completed section. You may continue to view the log until the completed task information is Deleted.

Recovering a single Fedora object from a DuraCloud backup

Define an appropriate Object Set:

  1. In CloudSync, go to the Sets tab, click Add, then PID List
  2. Enter the PID as the Name of the Set and as the only value in list, then click Save.

Copy the object:

  1. Go to the Tasks tab, click Add, then Copy Objects.
  2. Select the set you just defined, in (and from) your DuraCloud-based store, to your Fedora-based store.
  3. Keep "Run now" and "Overwrite" selected, then click Save.
  4. Wait for the task to complete; look for a new Sucess: entry in the Completed section.
