VIVO announced a new project director on Monday, March 9. Over the next several months, the Steering Committee will add members. A technical lead will be hired to coordinate the growth of contributed effort to the project. This session will provide ample opportunity to discuss the changes and their impact on the VIVO project.

To succeed in providing an outstanding solution to an organization’s information needs, the VIVO project must transform to a truly open project in all its activities. How can VIVO involve developers, ontologists, and others in the creation of an outstanding product consisting of a core, applications and tools, an ontology and documentation? Participants will discuss approaches to contributing and coordinating effort to move VIVO forward.

“VIVO provides an integrated view of the scholarly work of an organization.” What must the VIVO project do to make VIVO more valuable to the organizations that adopt it? What is missing? What should be better? How do we make VIVO the obvious choice for organizations looking to have an integrated view? This session will identify participant interests regarding a better VIVO product for adopters.
