ISLE: Islandora Enterprise

ISLE is a community developed and supported set of resources for quickly building and updating a fully functioning Islandora platform using a system building tool called community developed project that supports a set of maintained Docker images that provide a fully functioning Islandora platform for development, staging, and production digital repositories. ISLE runs as set of Docker containers (virtual servers) that will run all necessary components of Islandora.

Docker. The ISLE documentation provides clear instructions on how to do the following types of installations and updates:

  • Test/Demo ISLE: quickly create a new Islandora platform on your laptop or workstation (also good for local development)

  • New ISLE: create a new ISLE instance on new Islandora platform on a production, staging or development server

  • Update ISLE: update a preexisting ISLE instance with improvements and security updates

  •  (i.e., starting from scratch)

  • Migrate to ISLE: migrate a (non-ISLE Islandora 7x instance to ) Islandora 7.x platform to ISLE on a production, staging or development server

  • Test/Demo Update ISLE: create a new ISLE instance on my laptop or workstationupdate your existing ISLE instance with improvements and security updates
