Data Curation Solution Community

Vision Statement:  Data curation is not an end, but rather a means to collect, organize, validate and preserve data to address the grand research challenges that face society.  Successful data curation will require strategic infrastructure building efforts that encompass hardware, software, and human resource development.  Rather than develop a road map for such development efforts, it will be necessary to identify principles for navigation that account for evolving requirements, changing technologies, new organizational contexts, and sustainability plans.  Data curation should support new forms of research and learning across disciplines ranging from the sciences to the humanities.  Requirements must be gathered from both professional and citizen researchers and learners who may also partcipate with data curation infrastructure development.
