DuraSpace Membership Newsletter
November 17, 2016

MESSAGE FROM THE CEO (Debra)

As we approach the holidays DuraSpace will conclude work on our strategic plan. As part of the process we have conducted internal and external assessments to position ourselves and you, our community, to meet the challenges in preserving and making accessible our collective digital memory. As we are all aware the digital scholarly research landscape is affected by political, social and technical changes. Our strategic plan aims to evolve the DuraSpace business model to keep pace.

We look forward to sharing this plan with you and discussing opportunities at the DuraSpace Member Summit in the spring. Although our official membership drive draws to a close, we will welcome new members at any time. Please, continue to recruit your peers to participate in our community and let DuraSpace know what we can do to help engage with those not yet involved in community-supported open source software development of the DSpace, Fedora and VIVO platforms.

I wish you all a warm and happy Thanksgiving!

Debra Hanken Kurtz
