Goal
The primary goal of the DSpace Global Outreach Committee (DGOC) is to help identify or develop resources and tools for DSpace users and as well as to advance the user community network world-wide.
1) Help organize the DSUG Meetings at OR2009 in May 2009 (https://or09.library.gatech.edu/dspace.php) and DSUG stand alone mtg in Sweden in October 2009 (http://dsug09.ub.gu.se/index.php/dsug/dsug09)
2) Create a social network for the DSpace user community searchable by area of interest or expertise
3) Survey the DSpace user community and make all information available to the community through a dynamic database which can be queried and updated easily by users going forward (http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/Community+Networking+Survey+Results)
4) Create a list of projects/integrations/addons available for the DSpace platform
5) Recruit and organize a list of regional contacts for potential/new users who want to talk to someone local
Meeting notes can be found at http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/DSpace+Global+Outreach+Cmte/SPARC_DSpace_RM_Mtg
Activities
The following are a list of potential activities for the committee members. However, committee members will help refine and establish what is important for their region/country. Estimated time for each committee member is around 10 hours a month.

The committee meets monthly via a conference call. We hold two different calls to accommodate members from different time zones.
