  • The structure of the data (schema) is slippery.
    • A software upgrade in the providing organization can result in a change in the schema.
    • The providing organization may not know how their data is structured.
    • A personal relationship with the database administrators in the providing organization can be very helpful.
  • Add automated monitoring.
    • Hopefully with warnings if the data schema changes.
