1. Performance-testing tools: Benchtool, Grinder, JMeter, etc..

Performance testing.

Unknown User (escowles@ucsd.edu) has been doing some benchtool testing and has some concerns.

• reads are impossibly fast... perhaps an argument for using a more standard tool (Jmeter, grinder)
  • Michael Durbin said he'd had some experience with JMeter
    • we're not sure all of the shortcomings that prompted the development of benchtool, but those might be able to be worked into JMeter
      • generating large random data without having to write it to disk is one feature we developed in benchtool, that could be incorporated into JMeter or another tool
  • no one present had used grinder
