Attendees

Dustin Slater, Robin Ruggaber, Jennifer Gilbert, Chris Awre, Este Pope, Melissa Anez, Jon Dunn

Agenda/Notes

  • Brochure Drafts - review
    • Like the idea of a front and back - front high level with some screenshot examples, back break downs concepts with more details.
    • Concept of middleware is important to have there, but need to clarify what middleware is - multiple audiences who want to see that word or need to see how Fedora is connected to the repository ecosystem.
    • Jennifer will make a few updates and then we'll share it with David to see if this is on the right track/get feedback.
    • Question about branding LYRASIS and contact information, include link to membership since we want to grow membership.
    • Question about the link - still is linking to duraspace site
    • "raise all boats, stabilize, and sustain" - concept that Fedora has been around a long time - looking to reduce the churn, not change all the time,
  • User Group meetings - feedback
    • Nice to see fresh perspectives by having the regional user groups combined
    • Hope can still do at least once a year an online version of user group meetings
    • High-energy, good content sharing, went by quickly. People seemed to engage with it.
    • Conversation about exhibitions - interesting and hadn't thought about it in the context of Fedora.
    • European one in two weeks time - largely German presentation. Many of us in North America are interested in participating in the European one.
    • David posted the Youtube videos of the recordings - attendance about 40 people each day.
    • Promoting these to the broader public - create a blog post
  • Blog posts
    • Robin will work on the user group meetings blog post.
    • It was fairly straightforward to post the COVID 19 blog post.
    • Capture ideas and can add more posts as we think of them
  • Topic for a future meeting to think about - how to communicate reduced member fees and impact on Fedora's work
    • Need to get message out about why participation is a good thing.
    • Can institutions give time rather than money? Not just development staff?

  • No labels
