Attendees: Steven, Jason, Simeon

Regrets: Greg

Discovery (WP3)

  • BAM! WOW! (Browsing Across Music With Obtainable Wikidata)
    • 2023-06-29
      • Presenting at LD4 – will give the whole story of work
      • Jesi and Christina presented in affinity group recently. Main takeway was that last week focused on Blacklight refactoring but not progress with getting BAMWOW implemented. Christina had learned SPARQL and there was discussion of statement qualifiers in wikidata. Additional work planned for next sprint

Linked-Data Authority Support (WP2)

  • Qa Sinopia Collaboration - Meetings with Stanford will only occur on an as needed basis. Authority request issues: https://github.com/LD4P/qa_server/projects/1 (prioritized based on "important" authorities and ease of completion)
    • 2023-06-29
      • Steven has access to SVDE rest API documentation and there is an API for searching. Has credentials to access docs but current getting denied from trying the API. Looks like there might need to be multiple calls to get enough data to fill out QA response.
      • Greg found some bugs with app code that will need dev work.
  • Best Practices for Authoritative Data working group (focus on Change Management)
    • 2023-06-15 - Decided to maintain distinction between Deprecation and Delete. Next meeting on July 7
    • 2023-06-29
      • Working through (slowly) asynchronous discussions via Slack. (Currently trying to figure if we live without Merge/Split, with only Deprecate.)
      • Started slide deck LD4 Conference

Other Topics

  • POD & SHARE-VDE... should this team interact with that re: use cases, data analysis or other?
    • 2023-06-29 - Announced that work will run October - Spring 2024. Work on assessment will restart in October. Jason will try to bow out of group given competing work
  • Entity Management in FOLIO
    • 2023-06-29 - engagement in the group has dwindled; plan to speak with MM-SIG conveners (or at least Felix) to consider next steps. Use cases are in a steady state. Doug (EBSCO) is a good collaborator/colleague but how to best to ensure community input into EBSCO work is a bit uncertain to me at present. Don't want to drop the thread but also don't know that the group is the best use of time.
  • CUL Authorities in FOLIO
    • 2023-06-15 Completing documentation, archiving and deleting Voyager procedures.
      • Going to provide OCLC feedback on our wishes for receiving URIs in MARC, Currently using Connexion below means we would ingest records in FOLIO using single record import, and have to come back 24 hours later to get the URIs. Would be nice if initial export included them no matter where a cataloger works because it’s all the same save file.
  • FAST at CUL
    • 2023-05-24 : Plan to re-enliven FAST maintenance & creation this summer
    • 2023-06-29 : Still planning, hope to move this summer. OCLC BF work will focus on FAST
  • BIBFRAME Interoperability Group (BIG) - Steven Cornell rep and Jason alternate
    • 2023-03-24 Sinopia has been updated load a DC TAP (https://www.dublincore.org/groups/application-profiles/dctap-primer/) file and create SHACL, which can then be used to validate some RDF
    • 2023-03-30 Steven part of DC TAP group and also working on PCC profiles spreadsheet and what it would take to make that DC TAP compliant
    • 2023-06-15 Met earlier this week. Going entity by entity to look at what needs to be recorded and what doesn't. Support for minimal data including administrative information about who created what/when (though will be sketchy RDF semantics)
