  • Making terrific headway on our annual membership campaign. Overall, DuraSpace achieved 85% of its membership goals to date. We look forward to keeping that momentum going as we continue our campaign between now and October. 


  • Working with TU Berlin to (Technical University Berlin) to create the first consortial membership: we are very pleased to welcome 24 German Institutions to the DSpace community, and we are absolutely sure . We are confident that their contribution contributions and participation will help DSpace achieve the important goals of in the coming year! (should we add a special thank Special thanks to Pascal Becker from TU Berlin who coordinated this effort on the German side?) Yes-Nicolas Becker, The Library Code GmbH, for helping to coordinate with Technical University Berlin (please check this sentence for accuracy Michele Mennielli) to make this achievement possible.


  • Continuing our international outreach initiatives with a tremendous event in Lima, Peru where about 300 representatives from all Peruvian universities attended a DSpace Workshop (delivered in collaboration with Joan Caparros from CSUC, the Catalan Consortium of Universities), the first one in the Country and with the most attended attendees in the DSpace history. The event was hosted by CONCYTECthe Peruvian Council for Science and Technological Information, as a pre-conference event during their National Conference on Research Information. The conference, with attracted more than 500 attendees , and was a great opportunity for DuraSpace to meet with the Peruvian community of users, to listen to and learn what are about their needs and expectations. A the same time it was an important event to strengthen that strengthened our international collaboration with other organizations such as  euroCRISCOARORCIDLA Referentia, which . These organizations all presented their views and activities related to the research information and scholarly ecosystem, as well as our Service Providers who are active in the Region.   (do we want to mention the dspace-cris workdshop provided by 4Science?) Yes, pls confirm Erin Tripp 4Science organized a workshop focused on DSpace-CRIS within the one-day DuraSpace-euroCRIS Interoperability Event held on June 13, 2018 which focused on interoperability between DSpace repositories and CRIS systems.


  • Electing new leadership groups and facilitating development sprints for DSpace, Fedora and VIVO. 

  • Providing open project consulting to groups such as the ARKs-in-the-Open project, which recently held its inaugural advisory group meeting to kick-off a new community management approach.
