The VIVO project implements a number on W3C Semantic Web technology standards including RDF, OWL and SPARQL.

Please note the distinction between between Semantic Web technologies, and and Semantic Technologies, as described in this Cambridge Semantics article. The VIVO project implements a number on Semantic Web technologies such as RDF, OWL and SPARQL – so that's the natural focus of this section of the wiki. To share external information and resources about Semantic Web technology with beginners as well as active community members, covering both technical and non-technical concerns.  It is also likely possible that the domain of Semantic Technologies, such as Natural-language processing (NLP) and data mining, will be of interest to VIVO developers or and implementation teams to address challenges faced in dealing with data from varied, existing sources. This domain addresses technical challenges faced by Semantic Web implementations attempting to integrate large amounts of information from existing, data sources that aren't already Linked Data.
