On September 13, a virtual consultation was held at eScire by Julian Timal, October 18, the webinar "New DSpace 7 tools", given by DSpace technical advisor , in which the basic functions of DSpace were discussedJulian Timal, was held virtually at eScire. The event was freely accessible of free access, through the organization's organization´s social networks.  

In this consultancysecond DSpace event, the DSpace expert answered several questions about basic issues of the platform. Julian Timal began by explaining the context and background of the creation of the platform. 

At the end of his short introduction, Julian opened the floor so that participants could ask questions and make comments in real time with examples within a DSpace demo. To give real examples he showed platforms of universities that are working in a public way. 

Questions from the public included: DSpace scope, search filters, item order, privileges in communities and collections, statistics, among others. 

new features of DSpace 7 version were presented, since it is one of the new stable updates of the platform that many institutions are beginning to use.   

This virtual webinar covered topics such as entity configuration, the new DSpace 7 structure and the new menu options. It also covered topics such as the creation of communities and collections; records, export and import of metadata and their formats. 

To conclude, the speaker gave people the opportunity to ask their questions through the comments section in the social networks. At the end of the event, participants were invited to stay tuned for the next Lyrasis activities to continue resolving DSpace doubts..
