He further explained the importance of persistent identifiers, such as DOIs, in the management of digital resources within the academic realm and highlighted the implementation of DOIs in DSpace.

Additionally, he detailed how to configure DSpace to assign DOIs through DataCite, including specific technical steps like modifying configuration files and using credentials provided by DataCite. He also demonstrated practical examples showing how DOIs are assigned to resources in DSpace, and how the versioning and citability of these resources are managed.

Finally, the training covered details on the assignment of metadata (creator, contributor, etc.) and how this enhances the available information about digital resources, and emphasized the significance of Datasite in promoting the use of open-source software for managing scientific and academic data.
