  • Register an email for Crossref OpenURL. This requires registering, but there's no password later.  As of Fall 2017, there is no fee or cap on usage.  When you register, Crossref says they use this for tracking errors and that kind of thing.
  • Click the the "Use legacy API (Crossref OpenURL)" box and and enter the email you registered with Crossref in the setting for "OpenURL PID", and click "Save configuration".
