The DuraSpace organization is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. The organization is the result of the joining of Fedora Commons and the DSpace Foundation, two not-for-profits originally established to sustain the open source repository systems that bear their names (i.e., Fedora and DSpace). The two organizations joined forces to pursue a common mission and to expand their offerings into cloud computing and scholarly/scientific "cyberinfrastructure."
