Implementation Questions

  • How does one delete publications from VIVO?
    • ingest function to identify publications to remove, i.e. support RDF batch removal (future VIVO enhancement)
  • SPARQL query assistance (from vivo-imp-issues)
    • adding pages to wiki for common SPARQL queries under Implementation area of wiki, but connect these to the Ontology section
    • ability to save SPARQL queries in the VIVO Site Admin UI
    • sharing SPARQL queries on the wiki, where page history could help
    • "Learning SPARQL" from O'Reilly (may be available on their online Safari service)
  • Data ingest problem (from vivo-imp-issues)
    • missing authorship intermediary
  • Items for an Implementation FAQ:
    • Can I infer research areas from the publications of an individual?
      • research areas (keywords) not pulled down by Harvester, but is being addressed by Stony-Brook project that pulls down keywords (MeSH/UMLS?)
  • Questions about primary versus additional web page linking, and related admin user interface elements
    • Jon and Stella clarified that this has been upgrade in v1.3, getting away from early Vitro elements still present in v1.2, should be handled by upgrade function.
