On Wednesday, Participated I participated in workshop regardingAnd may see recordsChallenges and identificationThe People worksI regarding MARC records, and the work of catalogers to disambiguate authors. I hope through the exchanges of at the workshop that people involved in cataloginHave a betterUnderstandingThe cataloging have a better understanding of the needs of the Vivaah communityComeAnd VIVO community, and that we have a better understanding of the needs of the capitalcatalogers.
Lunch on Wednesday was a group that involved Christian husky and violet link,We have to included Christian Hauschke from TIB, Hannover, and Violeta Ilik. We went into the street and ended up in the Cornell cafeteria.
Later in the day we had a meeting of theYou should group and steering group the Aviva project.We DiscussedStrategic plan, Membershipthe VIVO Leadership and Steering Groups.We discussed the strategic plan, membership, participation, The the budget, And and next years year's conference. Wasn't It was a very engaged meeting,And I'm proud of foodParticipation the group. We had outstanding participation, and many ideas regarding strengthening the project.
Wednesday night, David Wilcox and I ,I Had had an opportunity to go toRadio city music to Radio City Music Hall, And and see Dave Chapelle, And the rootsCome.It and The Roots, woith Ice Cube. It was a great show.
Thursday was a very busy day. They It started with an outstanding keynote presentation by Christina Palmieri Pattuelli of the Pratt Institute regarding use of linked data in jazz historical archives. Who did AkonHuda Khan, John FerreraFereira, and Violet Violet like an night, had aPresentation onUnusual applications for Vivaah Violeta Ilik, and I presented on a Survey regarding non-traditional uses of VIVO. I presented regarding research graph.
Following the presentations and I manage to get out into the street for Nathan's hot dog. At had At lunch we had a ontology interested interest group meeting. We We were joined by Jim Hensler Hendler from the tethered worldInstituteTethered World Institute, at RPI.The conversation revolved aroundOntological around ontological change management. Jim Jim made the point that we should be considering how to accommodate previous versions of the ontology rather than having upgrades that require our data to change. Dave Eichmann offered some approaches to being able to do this. Intelligence have The ontologists have discussed this ideaBut it idea. It seems difficult in some of the real situations that people faces.
The afternoon had more contributed presentations followed by the poster session. I I thought the posters poster session was a great success much good work being presented in a wide variety of different areas having to do with evil VIVO implementation. I I had two posters, one on the Aviva VIVO roadmap, and one on the voting block chain blockchain with Alex Garcia Castro. Had I had a chance to meet many people in the community and share ideas with them.
Thursday evening, the diversity of Duraspace people had a chance to get togetherI Have together. We had a nice dinner.
