Goals of the Preservation and Archiving Community include:
- Building Build the community of stakeholders including, administrators, architects, archivists, data curators, librarians, preservationists, software developers, technologists, etc.
- Establishing Establish an information exchange that covers a broad range of topics including certification of repositories, policies, standards, frameworks, technology and tools, and processes for archiving, preserving and curating. We might start here by providing a list of Fedora-based repositories that provide services for archiving and preservation.Based on community input, we may want to consider developing a comprehensive specification for a Fedora-based preservation framework
- Encourage and facilitate the reuse of preservation services, software, and technology that is available in the Fedora and digital preservation community.
