Notes

The CRIS 2024 conference

Dragan confirmed that he and Michelle would be demonstrating new features at an upcoming CRIS conference, specifically those introduced in the last two years. However, due to time constraints, the presentation would only last 10 minutes, with 5 minutes for each topic: community updates and technical features. To effectively present the new features, Dragan planned to prepare screenshots and possibly some video.

Dragan asked whether this might be merged with only one review. Georgy explained the regression issue, how it is addressed and said the fix is already in the production. William thinks it looks good.

Improving efficiency of removing blank statements

This is a blocker for publishing VIVO 1.14.3 release candidate 2. Dragan would like to add this fix there. We will wait for Brian’s review. 

Vivo and Vitro Build Process Concerns

Welling, expressed his concerns about the interdependence between Vivo and Vitro in their build process, suggesting that Vitro should be a dependency rather than a layer of Vivo's build. He argued that this setup was defeating the purpose of a parent project, as changes in one project often require modifications in the other. Georgy and Dragan acknowledged the issue, noting that improvements were being made towards a more flexible Vitro. 

The next week meeting

We will skip the next week meeting due to Dragan’s and Brian’s participation in the CRIS conference.
