VIVO is an open source semantic web tool for research discovery for open source software and an ontology for representing scholarship. VIVO supports finding people and the research they do. Originally funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, work they do, encouraging research discovery, expert finding, network analysis and assessment of research impact. VIVO supports editing, searching, browsing and visualizing research scholarly activity across disciplines. VIVO's search returns results faceted by type for rapid retrieval of desired information across disciplines. VIVO is easily extended to support additional domains of scholarly activity.
