Welcome, developers! This is the Fedora Repository Development wiki. Here you'll find information about the development team, resources of interest to Fedora developers, and instructions on how you can work with us and contribute code to the project. Development StatusWe released Fedora 2.2.4 and Fedora 3.1 in Fall, 2008. The committers are now primarily focused on the 3.x line of development and have not yet set a release date. The current, rough estimate for this release is early Spring, 2009. Major items planned for the next release:
For an exhaustive list of items scheduled for 3.2, please see this page in the tracker. How To ContributeYou don't have to be a committer to contribute code! We have a lot of things to work on, and love to recieve quality contributions. Patches for bugfixes and code cleanup are most appreciated, and are relatively easy to get approved and merged by an existing committer. You can find a list of unassigned, outstanding items to be worked on in th FCRepo Tracker. Notify us via the fedora-commons-developers mailing list if you plan on working on an item. When you're ready to submit code, attach your changes to the issue in question and let us know, again via the developers mailing list. Note that there is also a Community Support Tracker in JIRA, where new issues can be submitted by anyone. These issues have not necessarily been verified by the committers, but can be "claimed" by anyone in the community. We'd like to have your formal permission to distribute your contributions. To make this process easy, we can take an emailed copy of your signed CLA. For further instructions, see the Fedora Commons Licenses Page. After making significant contribution to the codebase, you may be asked to become a committer. Committers are trusted members of the development community who have write access to the code repository and are thus able to make changes more effectively. Please see the Committer's Guide for more information. Developer Resources
