VIVO Annual Report

The NIH requires that we report our activities each year. As a very large American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant, there is particular interest in VIVO. The team leads completed a twenty page annual report that was submitted to the NIH today (June 30). The report makes interesting reading, covering all teams – development, ontology, implementation and outreach, as well as our evaluation and governance activities. The report has been posted on the home page of the VIVO Wiki as an attachment (scroll down to the bottom of the home page). It is recommended that all team members download and read the annual report. There is an incredible amount of work going on across the project!

VIVO Team Poster

Jenny Coffey and the team at Indiana have produced a poster of the VIVO team. All 122 members are represented with links showing their teams. It is a remarkable picture of a remarkable project. The poster is available on the home page of the VIVO Wiki as an attachment – scroll down to see the attachments and you will find VIVO Team poster listed. The poster represents a snapshot in the history of the project. People come and go. You may want to print the poster, display it where it will start conversation and then update it as things continue to evolve.

VIVO and Drupal

Drupal (www.drupal.org) is a popular open source portal and content management system. There are many potential synergies between VIVO and Drupal. This idea has captured the imagination of the Drupal project developers and Drupal community. It is being discussed in their public forums. The VIVO/Drupal thread can be found here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/77273.
